Address : Old Park Lane,
LONDON, W1K 1LB GB
Description
Location.
Metropolitan London is a fashionable design hotel situated on exclusive Park Lane and overlooking Hyde Park. The gold-card boutiques of Bond Street and genteel streets of Mayfair are 300 metres away.
Hotel Features.
The COMO Shambhala Urban Escape offers a menu of Asian-inspired holistic treatments, including the Jet Lag Therapy, Thai massages and Chinese Tui'Na massage. Hotel staff can advise visitors on where to go in the capital, including tips on restaurants, new shows and the best shops. A valet parking service is on offer; cost is around 35 GBP per day. Business guests can make use of the conference rooms and a secretarial service.
The Metropolitan houses two of London's hippest destinations. Nobu is the Michelin-starred restaurant favoured by the celebrity set, and serves a mix of Peruvian-Japanese dishes. The house speciality is Black Cod with Miso. The Met Bar is also a favourite celebrity haunt, where Armani-clad staff mix an array of bespoke Martinis. The bar has decadent red leather seating and moody lighting.
Hyde Park lies opposite the hotel and provides a variety of sporting opportunities, including jogging, horse-riding and a boating lake.
Guestrooms.
The 150 air-conditioned guestrooms are located over 10 storeys and are decorated in shades of taupe and cream, with purple and aubergine accents. Rooms are lined with pear-wood panelling and feature suede upholstery, pure Egyptian cotton sheets and goose down duvets. Views are of Hyde Park or Mayfair. All offer cable television with pay movies, phones with voicemail, high-speed wireless Internet connections, CD and DVD juke boxes, minibars, and safes. Bathrooms are in marble and frosted glass, with COMO Shambhala toiletries, and either bathtubs and showers or walk-in showers.
Expert Tip. Shepherd Market is located 500 metres behind the hotel, and is home to some of Mayfair's best pubs and restaurants. The cobbled streets and narrow lanes make a welcome respite from the grandeur of Mayfair's architecture.
